Total Inspiration [Gulf Shores Photography]

Old books, new books, doesn't matter. I enjoy all things paper. I am actually kind of weird about notebooks, I have a couple of thumb rules I realized that I make a purchase decisions according to. #1 - It MUST be visually apealing. Good design is a must. However, this doesn't have to mean OVER designed. I am more of a Jonathan Adler kind of girl if you know what I mean. #2 I have to like the paper or I just won't write in it. #3 It can't be too small. I am just NOT into those little bity note books. at all. period. [you know the ones by the check out at Barnes & Nobles and BAM].

I also love to stroll through a bookstore and be inspired. Wether it's for marketing materials, home decor,  or just for fun, I could be in there for hours and not realize it. I don't really sit down and read all the books I look at. I just look and look until my heart [and mind] finds contentment. Every now and then I find a book that I must have. A book that totally inspires me from cover to cover. The design is fabulous, great content, and the concept rocks. That's my kind of book. That's how I felt when I was in the local BAM [Gulf Shores doesn't have a Barnes and Nobles] and came across Todd Selby's,  The Selby In Your Place.

I love to take photos of who each person is and where they are in this part of their journey in life. Well, this takes it to the core. Going into the homes [which I LOVE doing family sessions in the home] and snapping images of the little details of your life. That's right, the cluttered dresser, the sleeping dog, Selby gets it all. The concept started out as a hobby, as he was already a well sought after photographer - but then it developed into a niche of business that no one had tapped [and that I love as well. business savvy and the know how to get it done ... gotta respect that!]
